An opportunity has arisen in the Cellular Pathology department based at Lincoln County Hospital for a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA). The role supports tissue diagnostics for both Lincolnshire NHS Trusts.
Key Responsibilities
 * Specimen reception and data entry.
 * Sample processing.
 * Microtomy, equipment maintenance, and slide filing.
 * General laboratory tasks.
Qualifications
 * Good numeracy and literacy skills (ideally GCSE Grade C or above in Mathematics and English).
 * Confidence in using information technology and complex laboratory equipment.
 * Effective communication with healthcare professionals.
 * Experience of working within a process adhering to tight guidelines and standard operating procedures (advantage).
Personal Specification
 * Education: GCSE or O-level equivalent in 3 subjects, including science.
 * Occupational Experience: Experience of the NHS or a laboratory environment; keyboard qualifications.

Band: 2. Salary: £24,465 a year pro rata. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Full‑time. Working hours: 08:00 to 17:30, rota. Saturday/Sunday rotational shifts. Location: Lincoln County Hospital, Greetwell Road, Lincoln DN33 2BA. Reference: 208‑E86F01‑25‑1.
