Applications are open for this 12-month post within the Department of General Surgery at University Hospital Crosshouse. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work in a welcoming, forward-thinking department.
This position would be suitable for candidates who have completed core surgical training and wish to further develop their CV prior to applying for higher specialty training.
Doctors within this role will be expected to participate in elective work such as outpatient clinics, operating lists, and endoscopy, in addition to general surgery emergency care. If appointed, you will provide out-of-hours on-call commitments to the middle-tier general surgery rota.
The successful applicant will have a dedicated clinical supervisor and will be encouraged to use the ISCP portfolio to document their surgical logbook and learning. The appointed candidate will be expected to participate in audit, education, and quality improvement projects within the department.
The appointment will be whole-time for 12 months commencing Summer 2025. A band 2B supplement will be paid to recognize contribution to out-of-hours work and emergency duty commitments, based on a salary range of £45,504 - £71,550. The posts are not recognized for training. Applicants must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice.
