Job description:
Here at XPO Logistics, were currently recruiting a Junior Payroll Specialist (part time) to join our dynamic central payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity to build a career within a busy payroll department supporting a leading transport and logistics solutions provider.
The Junior Payroll Specialist will learn and support the day-to-day processing of the XPO payroll service, ensuring that the service is delivered in an accurate, efficient and a timely manner, with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service at all times. The Junior Payroll Specialist is a key component in ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time.
This role is a part time position, 19 hours per week ( Monday 9am 5pm, Tuesday 1pm 5pm, and Friday 9am -5pm) As the business is growing and expanding, this role is likely to go onto permanent at some point in the future.
Pay, benefits and more:
We are looking to offer a salary of up to £12,350 per annum based on part time hours 19 hours per week. Also, we offer 25 days of holiday (plus bank holidays) pro rata and the option to buy additional days. What youll learn to do on a typical day:
Manually entering payroll information into ADP Global View [SAP GV] payroll system
Editing and loading spreadsheets.
Ensure employees data is maintained, including absence records, entitlements, ensuring accurate calculations are made for any statutory payments.
Dealing with pay queries in a timely manner.
Updating employee payroll records, including P45, new starter declarations, tax, NIC data and any other relevant employee changes
Complete payroll reports for record keeping purposes and site / managerial review.
Pension adjustments/ report reconciliation.
Updating the ticketing system.
Proactively build and maintain good relationship with allocated sites, including occasional site visits to support with payroll related issues.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
Essential: Previous experience in an office-based role, using computer systems & Microsoft office packages, emails etc
Essential: Willing to learn and wants build career within payroll.
Essential: Analytical & mathematical mindset and approach
Essential: Excellent communication & numerical skills
Essential: Good problem solver
Essential: Able to work well in a team & independently.
Essential: Strong expertise on Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) able to do pivot tables & V look ups.
Desirable some payroll or finance experience is advantageous.
