Are you an experienced Network Engineer with expertise in VMwareNSX?
Sopra Steria’s Aerospace Defence and Security sector are currently recruiting for a highly technical Lead Network Engineer with a specialism in VMware NSX for a secure government client. This role will be part of a wider Networking team and the technical authority on all things NSX responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of network architectures within hyperconverged Infrastructure environments using NSX and AVI technologies. Due to the nature of the project and client we are only able to progress with candidates eligible for DV clearance (Although individuals with an active DV clearance are preferred).
This role would be based full time in the office in Farnborough.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Lead the deployment and configuration of NSX-T components, including: Logical networking, Distributed firewall, Load balancing, VPN services
2. Enable advanced network virtualisation and micro-segmentation strategies.
3. Ensure high availability, performance optimisation, and security across all network services.
4. Design and maintain identity and access management solutions aligned with tiered access models.
5. Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and automation teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
What you’ll bring:
6. Strong hands-on experience with: VMware NSX-T, VMware AVI Load Balancers
7. Cisco secure networking
8. Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) environments
9. Proven experience designing and implementing scalable network architectures
10. Strong understanding of identity and tiered access models
11. Experience working within highly automated environments
It would be great if you had:
12. Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN)
13. Network monitoring and management tooling
14. Security best practices and secure design principles
15. Experience supporting automated infrastructure delivery using tools such as Ansible and Terraform
