Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)
The Role
An established and growing consultancy in Manchester is looking to bring in a Geotechnical Engineer to support a wide range of infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects across the UK. This is a hands-on role offering a mix of site work, design, and reporting, with clear progression opportunities as the team continues to expand.
You'll be joining a close-knit technical team where your input is valued, and you'll have the chance to work across the full project lifecycle-from ground investigation through to design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out and supervising ground investigations
Logging soil and rock in accordance with current standards
Producing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
Undertaking foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks assessments
Liaising with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
Supporting junior staff and contributing to project deliveryRequirements
Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
2-5 years' relevant UK experience
Good understanding of ground investigation techniques and geotechnical principles
Experience in report writing and basic design calculations
Working knowledge of UK standards (e.g. Eurocodes)
