Falmouth Exeter Plus manages and delivers services at Falmouth, Penryn and Truro Campuses on behalf of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter. We are now seeking an IT Project Manager for a fixed‑term appointment, tasked with supporting the IT management team in executing a substantial summer works programme and managing the IT components of multiple estates projects. This position involves providing governance and assurance to ensure IT resources are allocated sufficiently and punctually for major initiatives.
As part of the Corporate Support and Compliance team, the IT Project Manager collaborates with customers to deliver projects within established timelines and budgets, meeting business needs and agreed‑upon quality standards. You will take responsibility for planning, coordinating, and leading multiple projects throughout their complete lifecycle, handling initiatives of varying scope and complexity. Duties include preparing thorough documentation such as specifications, schedules, budgets and reports that highlight progress and completion.
About You
Strong communication skills are essential, as the IT Project Manager must foster effective relationships with customers and stakeholders, keeping everyone informed and able to participate in decision‑making processes.
Combining technical, process, and commercial expertise, the role requires a pragmatic and consultative approach to guide teams toward successful project outcomes and ensure customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate would have the following experience:
* Detailed understanding of Project management methodologies.
* Significant experience of delivering full project lifecycles including financial, procurement and change management.
* Experience in the identification and proactive mitigation of risks.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to explain complex conceptual ideas to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* Good problem‑solving skills, taking a proactive, pragmatic, and positive approach to finding workable solutions and alternatives.
* Ability to prioritise and organise work and ensure effective use of resources within your own area to overcome conflicting demands.
This post is offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months, 37.5 hour a week, full‑time, contract working across Monday‑Friday. The closing date for the position is Sunday 11 January 2026.
