Description
We are looking to hire a Warehouse Team Manager working 4 on - 4 off on 12-hour shifts (18:00pm -06:00am) at our Wincanton Sainsbury depot, Greenford. This is a challenging operational role and represents a great opportunity for individuals who wish to build on a career in operational Management.
Who are we?
Wincanton is a leading third-party logistics (3PL) and supply chain solutions provider in the UK and Ireland.
How will you contribute?
* To manage the shift performance of the warehouse operation to consistently meet the requirements of the Client, in line with the agreed service strategy to their network.
* To manage all warehouse shift activities to ensure that budgetary/financial KPIs, and legislative/procedural and contractual commitments are met.
* To assist in developing a culture of continuous improvement to drive best-in-class activity and operational excellence, in line with PCDR objectives.
* To be accountable for the Health and Safety practices on site, particularly within the immediate area of responsibility, e.g., warehouse shift operations
* To ensure the warehouse shift operation operates in line with all Company and Client procedures.
* To escalate appropriate issues in line with agreed procedures
* To assist in driving the site's culture programme
* To assist in ensuring that the warehouse operation's continuity is planned and tested in the event of emergency situations.
* To establish reporting integrity of warehouse activity
* To be responsible for the effective recruitment, development, and motivation of the direct reports
What will you bring?
* Experience within a similar role
* Knowledge of working in a fast-paced environment
* Competent on Microsoft packages
* Strong understanding of compliance relating to drivers
* Team leader or management experience is desirable but not essential.
