Account Controller


Great opportunity to work at a construction firm based in West London (HA4 7AE).



Job Purpose & Overview:

We are seeking an Account Controller with strong Bookkeeping and Management Accounts experience, to join our well-established construction business, based in West London. This is a full-time, office-based role, ideal for someone who thrives in a structured work environment and enjoys being a key part of a close-knit team.

This position is maternity cover and will be offered on a 13-month fixed-term contract.

As the company is growing, there is a strong possibility it could lead to a permanent role.

Must be able to start in September.


Your Key Responsibilities:

* Managing general bookkeeping tasks including input of suppliers, subcontractors, and sales invoices
* Post all bank payments and receipts and perform regular bank reconciliations
* Oversee Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable processes
* Manage debt collection for all company debtors
* Assistance with the preparation of monthly end close including journals, prepayments, accruals and fixed asset accounting
* Produce accurate balance sheet and P&L reconciliations and investigate variances
* Prepare monthly job cost reports
* Conduct VAT and CIS Returns preparation

· Process payments via online banking systems

· Undertake any reasonable duties as directed by the Director/Accountant to ensure the smooth running of the department


Required Skills:

* Strong bookkeeping skills, with experience of min 5years.
* Experience in construction industry (preferred)(min 1 year)
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Knowledge of VAT returns and complex accounting journal preparation and posting
* Ability to manage administrative tasks alongside bookkeeping responsibilities
