Overview

The IMAP Generator Quality Control (QC) inspector is responsible for evaluating the equipment preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance tasks and their associated deliverables completed by IMAP Technical Teams (Teams) in accordance with the IMAP Generator scope of work and the IMAP Quality Control Plan.


Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions

* Quality Control Work Verification: perform an assessment of completed tasks after an IMAP Team’s departure from an overseas U.S. Embassy or Consulate (Post). This includes assessing the preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and/or corrective repairs (CR) completed by the Team; reviewing for completion and accuracy the Team’s service documentation (Service Reports, equipment PM checklists, bills of material, and recorded readings and measurements); documenting observed conditions through photography where permissible; identifying issues with completed work, incomplete tasks, or remaining deficiencies; and drafting descriptive summaries of observations, checklists, and discussions with Post staff, providing recommendations for improving quality in service delivery, and preparing Quality Control Work Verification reports.


Quality Control Management Assessment

* Assess the performance of PM tasks and/or CR while the Team is deployed at a Post.
* Provide guidance to the Team on management tasks, including leading meetings, interacting with Post staff, their Field Service Supervisor (FSS) and/or Senior Service Manager (SSM), and IMAP Office staff.
* Review the Team’s service documentation (Service Reports, equipment PM checklists, bills of material, and recorded readings and measurements).
* Document observed conditions through photography to assist in identifying issues with completed work, incomplete tasks, or remaining deficiencies; draft descriptive summaries of observations and prepare Quality Control Management Assessment reports.


Quality Assurance Program

* Identify areas for improvement in the Program’s processes and procedures.
* Review Teams’ Service Reports for completeness, accuracy, coordination, and comprehension; provide feedback to the Team’s SSM and/or FSS.
* Create and edit quality assessment checklists, forms, and report templates.
* Provide recommendations to FSS and/or SSM to improve Team tasks and raise service quality across IMAP service types.
* Assist in performance of other Program quality assurance activities as assigned.


Deliverables

* QC Inspection Reports
* Weekly Status Reports
* Fully complete and detailed QC check sheets for all equipment assessed
* General summaries of out-brief meetings


Required Qualifications And Experience

* Must be a graduate of a State approved/accredited or military program that provided formal training in electrical generating and/or power transfer equipment
* Must be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. State Department Top Secret Security Clearance
* Must have the physical ability to travel overseas
* Must be able to pass a physical examination for duty
* Must be able to work on ladders, access rooftops and other hard to reach areas, and be able to lift and carry materials and tools in excess of 25 pounds
* Must be familiar with NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, Electrical Generating Systems Association, OSHA, and other safety regulations and use of required PPE
* Must be proficient in using a computer to send email and use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
* Must have experience working in overseas environments

Additionally, a Generator QC Inspector is required to meet the below qualifications to be eligible for the position described:

* Level 2 / Journeyman – Requires at least 7-10 years of related experience as a qualified Generator Technician. Performed maintenance, troubleshooting, and standard service repairs on all brands/types of generators, transfer switches, and load banks listed in the IMAP Generator SOW. Able to source and recommend required maintenance equipment and supplies/materials. Works independently within established procedures for the IMAP Generator QC Inspector’s role.
* Level 3 / Master – Requires at least 10+ years of related experience. Performed maintenance, troubleshooting, and standard service repairs on all brands/types of generators, transfer switches, and load banks listed in the IMAP Generator SOW without supervision. Able to replace any part and perform limited overhaul maintenance and equipment adjustments. Able to source and recommend required maintenance equipment and supplies/materials.
* Level 4 / Superintendent – Requires 10+ years of related experience and at least 1 year as an IMAP technician. May perform the duties of a team leader, resolve logistical issues, relay information to the IMAP Office, and provide training to Level 1 and Level 2 Technicians. Ability to use all resources to solve complex power generation issues; expected to be an ambassador for the IMAP contract and to optimize program operations.
