Job Description:
This role can be based out of our London, Coventry, or Manchester Store Support Centre & Home. Colleagues go into the office 1-2 days per week on average.
Joining Sainsbury's as a Finance Manager in Group Control involves working within a dynamic finance team focused on accuracy and compliance in fixed asset tech and lease accounting. You will drive process improvements and automation, working closely with senior stakeholders and leveraging IFRS standards to ensure accurate financial reporting. The role includes managing two direct reports and overseeing two outsourced teams.
What you'll do
* Ensure accuracy and integrity of fixed asset tech and lease accounting data and calculations.
* Implement and manage a control framework, identify risks, and develop process enhancements and automation solutions.
* Provide technical support on IFRS 16 and IAS 16 standards.
* Support lease reporting reconciliation and ensure accurate presentation of financial information in group and statutory accounts.
* Influence senior stakeholders and drive change initiatives.
Who you are
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with knowledge of IFRS 16 and IAS 16.
* Experience in practice or industry, focusing on fixed assets, leases, or technology accounting.
* Proven management experience, including overseeing outsourced teams.
* Proficiency in Excel and Oracle for financial reporting and data management.
* Experience producing technical accounting papers and advising stakeholders on complex issues.
* Track record of process improvements and automation initiatives.
