The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Digital Accounting Technician to support and manage a portfolio of cloud accounting clients. You will work with a variety of businesses, each with unique processes and operational requirements, so flexibility and strong problem-solving skills are essential.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with digital tools, improving processes, and helping clients gain meaningful financial insight from their numbers.
This is a 100% office based role due to the nature of collaboration within the team and clients
Key Responsibilities
Duties include (but are not limited to):
* Processing purchase and sales transactions using cloud-based document capture software
* Bank reconciliations
* Supplier account reconciliations
* Balance sheet account reconciliations
* VAT reconciliations and preparation of VAT returns
* Payroll processing
* Posting journals including accruals and prepayments
* Help produce management accounts and KPI reports
* Supporting clients with bookkeeping queries and system usage
* Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures
* Supporting Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance processes
* Supporting cashflow forecasting and basic budgeting processes
* Maintaining digital audit trails and ensuring data integrity across systems
You may also be involved in onboarding new clients to cloud accounting software, including system setup, data migration, training and ongoing support.

You must be highly proficient in:

Working knowledge of:

* ApprovalMax
* Syft
* Dext Commerce
Requirements
* AAT qualified or studying at AAT Level 3 or above
* Previous bookkeeping or cloud accounting experience in practice or industry
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* A proactive and solutions-focused approach
* Demonstrable experience working in a paperless or fully digital finance environment
* Strong understanding of UK VAT rules and compliance requirements
* Confidence training clients on accounting systems and best practice usage
* Ability to identify automation opportunities within client processes
