Business Support Manager – Chief Executive Office
We are looking for a dynamic and driven Business Support Manager to work within the Chief Executive’s Office and alongside the Planning & Performance Team. This unique opportunity is a new post and will work directly with senior leaders, influence strategic decisions, and help shape the future of healthcare delivery across the Borders region.
This post will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Executive, driving forward planning, performance, and business management initiatives, as well as leading on service reporting, performance, project management and ensuring the Executive Office runs smoothly and efficiently.
The post holder will work closely with the Board Executive Team, directly contributing to the success of NHS Borders’ strategic priorities and national healthcare objectives, and will develop planning processes that align local and national priorities, contributing to service redesign focussing on a Quality Improvement Approach.
The post holder will line manage a small team, oversee budgets and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation and beyond—including Scottish Government, local authorities and third sector partners.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.
As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’.
