Are you keen to contribute to the provision of high quality health care for children and young people in the community? Do you have NHS or other experience in a caring role, equipping you to work effectively to support and monitor children and young people who need nutritional input in the community? We are looking for a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner to assist our small friendly team in providing services to this group of patients throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The post offers the opportunity to be a member of the Dietetic Paediatric primary care team and will work across the health care community, including GP surgeries, nurseries and schools, providing support to Dietitians in managing patient care plans. The post holder will have their own caseload of patients to support and monitor with Dietetic support. Duties include office-based record keeping and data input, working alongside or independently from Dietitians, and engaging in patient contact, monitoring, and training delivery in various settings.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Perform office-based duties such as record keeping and data input.
* Work alongside Dietitians and independently with support to manage patient care plans.
* Engage in patient contact, monitoring, and training for individuals and groups.
* Participate in pre-registration placements for student dietitians.
* Travel between different locations; a full UK driving licence and access to a car are required.
Leicester Nutrition and Dietetic Service (Community) comprises approximately 80 staff, including Dietitians, Community Nutritionists, and Support Workers, covering Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. The service supports CPD and personal development through clinical supervision and in-house training.
Applicants should have previous experience working with children in a healthcare-related role and possess excellent team-working, communication, organisational, and IT skills. A passion for working with children and families is essential.
