Job Description
New Directions Education are currently recruiting a passionate and dedicated KS1 Teacher to work in a welcoming primary school in Chester. This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys working with younger learners and is committed to creating a positive and engaging learning environment where pupils can develop confidence and strong foundational skills.
The school is a supportive and inclusive setting with a strong focus on pupil wellbeing, high-quality teaching, and collaborative working between staff. Teachers are encouraged to create creative and engaging lessons that support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.
The Role:
• Delivering engaging and effective lessons across Key Stage 1
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Planning and delivering lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Assessing pupil progress and providing feedback where required
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
• Supporting pupils with varying learning needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• A proactive and flexible approach to teaching
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and the primary curriculum
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
