We have an exciting Medical Secretary positions available, based at Sandwell Hospital working as part of the Obstetrics/Maternity team, 15 hours per week
The post holder will be providing secretarial support to a consultant obstetrician and the team. We offer flexible working and preferred working hours
The key requirements for this position are the AMSPAR qualification, or a minimum of 2 years previous medical secretary experience.
Candidates should also have experience of managing 18 week pathways and waiting list management, plus knowledge and evidence of patient information systems and other relevant IT systems. Personal organisation, great communication skills and the ability to priorities workloads to juggle the ever changing priorities of the NHS are also essential, as is the experience of working in a fast paced environment.
Main duties of the job
Actively managing the administrative processes associated with patient pathways and contributing to the effectiveness of clinical teams (including patient experience, patient flow and waiting list management) for specialty teams.
Co-ordinating, navigating and tracking a caseload of patients efficiently and effectively through their care pathway i.e. outpatients, day case, diagnostics and inpatients from referral to treatment and discharge for Obstetrics.
Providing secretarial and administrative support to Consultants and clinical teams to support the delivery of high quality co-ordinated and integrated care including liaison with patients, careers GP's and other service users.
