Position Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and experienced Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering (Machinist) to join our Engineering department, where you will deliver both practical and theoretical sessions across a range of engineering units. You will have a strong understanding of machining processes, mechanical assembly, hand fitting techniques and the maintenance of mechanical equipment. You should also be confident in teaching topics such as general turning, milling, and welding applications, as well as supporting learners in understanding technical information, working safely and developing efficient working practices.
Qualifications
* Hold a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering
* Have experience in a relevant industry and/or educational setting
* Have practical skills and theoretical knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and using a centre lathe and conventional vertical turret milling machine
* Hold GCSE A
* Hold GCSEs, C/9-4 in English and Maths or equivalent
* An IQA qualification is desirable but not essential
Responsibilities and Skills
Ability to motivate and inspire learners, strong communication and organisational skills, confident in delivering high quality, industry-relevant training.
Additional Requirements
If you are currently living overseas or have lived or worked overseas in the last five years, you will be required to provide an overseas criminal record check from the country or countries where you have worked or resided if you are the preferred candidate.
