What you'll be doing
The Estimator, will be supporting the Managing & Senior Estimators to develop estimates from 1st Principles associated with the Balfour Beatty portion of the Sizewell C Civil Works Alliance.
1. Undertake estimates in accordance with the companies policies and procedures.
2. Review customers drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets for materials, labour and equipment.
3. Oversee and/or interrogate design options and value solutions and, if appropriate, identify the attractiveness of a project based on sound estimating principles.
4. Record assumptions and identify risks and opportunities including developing the risk evaluation from pricing/budgetary point of view.
5. Liaise with project team & supply chain to develop and understand methodologies and principles proposed.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
6. Civils/Infrastructures projects background.
7. Previous experience in an estimating role, commercial or operational background would be considered.
8. Working towards being Chartered e.g. ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB.
9. Candy estimating software knowledge desirable but not essential
10. Good financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation accurately.
