Estate Ranger

£26,351 - £27,738 per annum
Full Time - 37 Hours per week - Permanent
Based out of their Head Office Shrewsbury Avenue, Peterborough
0800-1600 Monday - Friday
Our client is looking to recruit for the varied role of Estate Ranger with a primary focus on gardening. You will be at the heart of helping residents maintain and restore their outdoor spaces, ensuring their estates remain green, clean, and welcoming.
About the Role
You will work with the Rangers team to support their residents by carrying out essential garden clearance and ongoing maintenance. This is a hands-on, community-facing role and they are looking for someone who will take pride in their estates and ensure they are well maintained, neat and tidy to enhance their reputation for providing quality homes.
Key Responsibilities
* Clear and maintain residents’ gardens, including removal of overgrowth and waste.
* Prune trees, hedges, and shrubs.
* Mow lawns and maintain planting beds.
* Remove unwanted garden items and prepare areas for resident upkeep.
* Cut back bushes, brambles, Ivy and mow the grass.
* Fly-tipping and gutter cleaning.
* Inspect estates and streets for disrepair and risks, report to relevant departments and stakeholders.
* Post-inspect contractors' ground maintenance, support compliance with their standards.
* Weekly visits to Hostels and Schemes for repairs, ensuring their standards.
* Maintain communal areas, perform repairs, remove graffiti, and report complex issues.
* Manage site security, communicate with contractors, public, residents, and their staff.
* Test AOVs, emergency lights, powered gates, and playground equipment; report issues.
* Manage fire risks, remove refuse, ensure clear bin areas, report non-compliance.
* Address health and safety non-compliance, report concerns about residents and tenancy breaches.
* Deliver excellent customer service, manage expectations, report unresolved issues.
* Maintain accurate site records, use hand-held devices for job updates and communication.
* Keep estates clean, remove refuse, fly-tipping, and health risks, record service charges.
* Assist vulnerable residents and support Facilities, Health and Safety team with various tasks.
* Maintain company vehicles, report issues, arrange cleaning and maintenance.
What They're Looking For:
* Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work
* Knowledge and understanding of tree, shrub and plant species, garden design and garden maintenance
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence
* Cleaning duties experience
* Site surveys and inspections experience
* Experience interacting with the public
* Experience using a handheld device
* Fire Regulations knowledge
