An established residential housebuilder is looking to appoint an Assistant Buyer to join their Commercial team in Dorset.
This role will support the procurement of materials across multiple housing developments, from pre-start through to project completion. Working closely with an experienced Buyer and the wider Commercial function, youll help ensure materials are ordered accurately, competitively and in line with programme requirements.

Assistant Buyer Key Responsibilities:

2. Support procurement across multiple housing developments, including tender enquiries, supplier quotations, and price comparisons.
3. Prepare material schedules and quantities from drawings/specifications (training provided) and raise accurate purchase orders.
4. Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to manage orders, follow-ups, and supplier performance.
5. Assist with invoice queries, reconciliation, and record-keeping alongside Finance.
6. Track material deliveries, attend project meetings, and communicate specification changes to site teams.
7. Maintain procurement systems, databases, and reports to support commercial decision-making.
