NHS Lothian seeks a Lead Midwife/Nurse to provide senior leadership in Quality Improvement and Standards within Maternity Services. This role supports our goal to develop a Quality Management System.
The post involves providing clinical and professional leadership for Care Assurance and Value Management, ensuring policies, standards, and training are in place. The role also includes expert advice on clinical nursing and strengthening links with Healthcare Improvement Scotland, focusing on Excellence in Care.
Candidates should have experience leading clinical teams, managing change, and prioritizing safety and quality. A strong nursing background with postgraduate study at Level 11 in midwifery/nursing, along with QI training, is required.
Care Assurance in NHS Lothian is embedded within the Nursing Strategies, linked to national frameworks, and managed within a multi-professional team.
The role reports to the Head of Nursing for Quality Improvement and Standards and involves collaboration across sites and teams.
