The Role

As the Careers and Enterprise Leader, you'll be at the heart of ensuring learners and their families receive unbiased information, advice, and guidance (IAG) to navigate complex career pathways and make informed decisions about their future. This role involves preparing individuals for emerging opportunities and challenges, helping them overcome barriers, raise aspirations, and capitalize on a dynamic labour market.
You will lead with enthusiasm to ensure the Group provides independent careers education and guidance (CEIAG) that equips learners with skills and knowledge to succeed. This includes driving the commitment to meet and exceed the Gatsby Benchmarks, which are fundamental to delivering world-class careers provision.
Skills And Qualifications
You will have experience with student guidance, working with learners aged 14-16, 16-18, 19+ including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Looked After Children, or Education, Health and Care Plans. Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing successful CEIAG strategies and operational plans in a post-16 setting is essential.
You will hold a degree-level qualification or equivalent professional qualification in careers guidance (e.g., Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development) OR significant demonstrable professional experience in a similar role. The Group supports undertaking the Level 6 careers guidance qualification to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Knowledge of qualifications within Further Education and progression routes is ideally preferred.
Department Info
You will line manage the Careers Advisors across the Group, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high expectations. You will report to the Senior Leader responsible for Careers.
You will work across Rotherham College, Dearne Valley College, and North Notts College to ensure curriculum areas meet Gatsby Benchmarks, highlight good practices, and support areas needing improvement. Establishing good working relations will ensure a whole Group approach to meaningful CEIAG for all students.
