Buyer (Engineering and Manufacturing) : Newcastle, UK Salary : £30,000 to £40,000 MacArthur Recruitment is looking for a Buyer to join the team for our client in Newcastle. Summary for the role of Buyer : Sourcing the right suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing the procurement process as well as evaluating supplier proposals, assessing quality and pricing, and making informed decisions to secure the best deals for the company. You will also play a critical role in supplier relationship management, monitoring supplier performance to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery and also contribute significantly to cost reduction and supply chain optimization. Raising manufacturing and raw material RFoQ's within IFS, utilising knowledge to ensure accurate recipient selection. Converting quotations into purchase order within IFS, using knowledge to ensure suitability, accuracy and cost effectiveness; proficient in issuing POs within IFS post-approval Coordinating efficiently and obtaining updates from multiple suppliers for open purchase orders, promptly incorporating latest information within IFS and communicating status to relevant stakeholders. Addresses discrepancies present in non-conforming products: maintains a strong focus on improving operational efficiency and product integrity. Possesses a base level understanding of engineering drawings, capable of answering basic queries and seeks guidance when required. Ownership of the Change Order Management Process; demonstrating comprehensive understanding and proficiency in creating tasks within IFS, establishing change steps, and assigning action items to the team for execution. Capable of securing budget pricing and deliveries, using knowledge and experience to support sales bidding. Your experience for the role of Buyer: IT literate and proficient in using Microsoft Office suite. Previous experience working within an office environment. Various levels of entry from, new to the role, to an experienced Buyer with experience in purchasing or supply chain management. Familiarity with procurement software, ERP systems, and other relevant tools CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) Level 2 or Level 3 qualification would be ideal.
