The post holder will provide a dedicated AMHP response during daytime working hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The role will be supported by a backup rota and contingency rota from other AMHPs within the Adult service across the borough. The AMHP service is integrated within the community mental health team based at Humphrey House.
The main purpose of the AMHP post is to deliver an effective AMHP service that meets the needs of Bury residents, including those in wider geographic areas, in accordance with Bury council’s statutory responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983.
The AMHP role involves managing referrals within the resources allocated to the AMHP rota, which may include completing multiple assessments to meet demand. Occasionally, there may be a need to work outside of the standard working hours. Bury local authority has a robust Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) policy to support work-life balance.
To maintain and enhance professional standards through personal development and specialist AMHP training, including regular supervision.
To promote and uphold the principles and values outlined in the Mental Health Act, the Mental Health Act Code of Practice, and other relevant legislation.
To undertake all duties associated with the role of an AMHP.
Normal hours are 37 hours per week, based on the usual business week. Depending on service needs, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
