A warm Watford primary is seeking a confident and creative Year 1 Teacher to join its KS1 phase on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. The successful Year 1 Teacher will be involved in pre-term planning ahead of January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and commence classroom responsibilities from January 2026 as the Year 1 Teacher. Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities The Year 1 Teacher will: lead systematic phonics, deliver guided reading and teach sequenced writing lessons as the Year 1 Teacher; design practical mathematics activities and run targeted interventions as the Year 1 Teacher; prepare resources for transition events in advance of January 2026 and contribute to parents’ meetings after January 2026. The Year 1 Teacher will track progress, moderate evidence and report outcomes at termly reviews as the Year 1 Teacher. Year 1 Teacher Requirements We are seeking a Year 1 Teacher with QTS (or equivalent), confident KS1 practice and strong phonics delivery. The Year 1 Teacher should be reflective, organised and able to work closely with teaching assistants and families.
