LIVE IN CARERS - SKILLED DEMENTIA CARE GIVERS X 4 – NORTHAMPTONSHIRE VILLAGE – 2 WEEK ROTATION – £135.00 PER DAY PLUS FOOD ALLOWANCE
We are seeking four skilled, compassionate, self-employed, professional caregivers to work on a rotational basis. This role requires established dementia experience, knowledge and skills to support our 84-year-old Mum who lives in a charming, quiet Northamptonshire village. Your daily working routine will be 9 hours, mostly 8am – 16:00 and 19:00 – 20:00 with team support from day carers to cover your protected 2-hour break. We are suggesting a two-week rotation but can be flexible and will attempt to accommodate preferences. Following a recent fall and fracture in June 2025 there have been regular Physiotherapy home visits with good improvement.
The accommodation is large, immaculate and very comfortable with a double room and en-suite for the carer to use. Since the fall, Mum is sleeping downstairs in a hospital bed but mobilises independently with a kitchen trolley and uses a 4WW and/or wheelchair to access the community with her day carer. Mum is independent using a commode during the night; we have an alarm mat at the bedroom door and Mum occasionally requires assistance during the night.

* Prompt and support with dosette medication
* Companionship
* Encouraging engagement with activities
* Facilitate exercise regime
* Plan and preparation of nutritionally balanced meals and snacks (shopping completed on your behalf)
* Personal care
* Laundry tasks
* Maintain an orderly and clean home (cleaner also visits)
Qualifications and Requirements
* Ability to promote and facilitate independence in activities of daily living
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with Mum, visitors, family and healthcare professionals
* DBS check (own DBS) and liability insurance
* A car driver with a valid driving licence would be helpful but not essential
Logistics and Expectations
Clear daily written notes reporting daily care and any immediate urgent needs to appropriate healthcare professionals and family representatives. The role requires self-employment status and a commitment to regular rotation schedules.
