Position Overview: We are recruiting full and part-time permanent relief Emergency Call Handlers for the West of Scotland Ambulance Control Centre in Cardonald, Glasgow.
Role Responsibilities: Emergency Call Handlers are essential in providing life-saving advice and assistance to callers. They are the first point of contact, responsible for prioritising calls, offering life support, first aid, and medical advice, and liaising with ambulance crews, police, and other emergency services.
Candidate Requirements: Applicants must be able to type at a minimum of 30 wpm with 90% accuracy, demonstrate the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, and possess excellent communication skills. Experience in public interaction, healthcare, contact centres, or face-to-face settings is preferred.
Training and Working Pattern: Successful candidates will undergo in-house training, including a two-week training period and up to 10 weeks of certification training. The work schedule includes full-time and part-time relief shifts, covering nights, weekends, and bank holidays, with various shift patterns discussed during interviews.
