 
        
        Blair West are supporting a long-established and growing Group based on the outskirts of Bishop Auckland with the recruitment of a Management Accountant.
This is a key role within the Finance team, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller. The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of management reporting for multiple subsidiaries within the group and play a pivotal role in driving financial performance and process improvement across the business.
The opportunity:
 * Take ownership of monthly management reporting across multiple group entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial insight.
 * Deliver detailed variance analysis and commentary to support informed decision-making.
 * Oversee accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and the upkeep of fixed asset registers.
 * Lead on annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, working closely with senior management.
 * Partner with auditors during year-end, ensuring statutory accounts are prepared to a high standard.
 * Manage VAT submissions and other statutory reporting requirements.
 * Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the Group’s finance systems and ERP platform.
 * Collaborate with Directors and key stakeholders to strengthen financial performance and reporting standards.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
 * Proven experience in monthly management accounting, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
 * Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
 * Strong Excel and IT skills, with experience using ERP systems.
 * Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
 * Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels.
 * A proactive approach to improving processes and reporting frameworks.
