Maintenance Engineer – Maintenance & Improvement Projects

Salary: £42,956 + benefits (DAYS)
Location: Telford, Shropshire
Reporting to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, this position manages and supports maintenance department projects, with both hands-on and contractor management responsibilities depending on project scope. The role also provides support to the maintenance facilities team.
* Support maintenance team through CAPEX projects and process improvements
* Lead and support cross-functional teams to deliver first-time-right projects
* Lead maintenance projects to improve plant KPIs (OEE, machine uptime)
* Deliver departmental CAPEX and cost reduction projects
* Develop and implement CAPEX projects alongside the Project Manager
* Ensure adherence to H&S policies, procedures, and targets, including contractor compliance
Experience
The ideal candidate will be a competent Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Electrician with experience in a volume manufacturing or automated environment. This role is suitable for an experienced Maintenance Engineer seeking to move away from shift work for better work-life balance.
* Time-served apprentice in mechanical/electrical engineering
* Proven experience with production machinery, plant installation, and broad engineering principles
* Good understanding of Health & Safety and Safe Systems of Work (RAMS, Permits to Work)
* Experience with capital equipment upgrades, improvement projects, or new machine installation
* Project management experience
* Subcontractor management and control experience
