School Crossing Patrol Officer - Galleywood Infants & St Michael's Junior, Barnard Road, Galleywood

Salary: £13.00 per hour
Working Style:
Join Essex County Council’s School Crossing Patrol Team to support your local community at Galleywood Infants & St Michael's Junior.
Support schools in the morning and afternoon, ensuring pedestrian safety at crossings.
We seek punctual, reliable, approachable individuals who enjoy engaging with the public.
This position is approximately 6.66 hours per week, with holiday pay included. Availability during the 39-week academic year is needed, roughly 08:30 - 09:05 mornings and 14:45 - 15:30 afternoons, depending on site needs. Uniform, equipment, and training provided.
Responsibilities:
* Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians.
* Maintain contact with schools attended by crossing users.
* Assess risks at the crossing site, report issues to supervisor.
* Assist in reporting accidents and incidents at the crossing.
* Maintain uniform and equipment in good condition, request replacements when needed.
* Give signals to drivers, stopping traffic and ensuring pedestrian safety.
