Management Accountant Cinderford, GLS, GB, GL14 2PH What you can expect Hybrid Working applies This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivatedManagement Accountant. You will provide financial reporting, controlling, treasury and precious metals management for the refining business located at BASF Metals Recycling Ltd, Cinderford, UK under the supervision of the Financial Controller. The position is responsible for managing the daily cash positions and the full loop accounting tasks as well as monthly and annual financial statement preparation. The position is also responsible for monthly forecasting and annual financial budget preparation. The incumbent will work as a key member of Finance team, site management team, commercial, operations, supply chain personnel at the site and interact with various BASF corporate functions and with staff of different levels both in the UK and in other locations, as well as external parties. As the Management Accountant your main responsibilities will be: - Financial Accounting, Reporting & Planning - Responsible for full loop of accounting tasks (Accounts Receivables and Credit Control, Accounts Payables and Vendor Invoice Management, Bank and cash clearing accounts, General Ledger reconciliation and analysis, Fixed Assets) and perform the month end accounting closing processes and reconciliations to a timely and accurate manner with proper controls and approvals. - Responsible for preparing the monthly group financial reports, preparing the management accounting package, interpreting the business results and advising the business unit leadership of the financial position. - Responsible for monthly forecasting and annual financial budget preparation. - Preparation of the annual statutory accounts and coordination of the statutory audit with external and internal partners. - Tax Management - Coordinate with tax advisors to provide accurate reporting and supporting information for the preparation of the annual corporate tax computations. Processing the quarterly tax provision calculations for group reporting and prepayments to the regulatory authorities. - Preparation of the monthly VAT returns and assessments of tax treatment for new business. - Precious Metal Controlling & Reporting - Coordinate between global functions for precious metal monthly analysis and reporting, monthly forecasting and annual budget. - Responsible to ensure accurate and timely daily precious metal cover provision to minimize risk of pricing differences for the operation. - Work with the Operations Manager, Supply Chain and Customer Support to monitor the stock, ensuring that there are no un-reconciled differences between physical quantity and theory bookings by customer and metal. - Review and processing of daily precious metal batches and internal recoveries. - Perform the month end precious metal closing and reconciliation of theory inventory to physical precious metal inventory including reconciliation of metal related general ledger accounts. - Supervise the annual physical precious metal inventory, cycle counts and reconciliations for the plant. - Treasury - Responsible to ensure that bank facilities, controls and banking administration are appropriate to the needs of the business in conjunction with the corporate treasury department. - Responsible to ensure cash management, including management of foreign exposures is in accordance with business guidelines. - Compliance - Responsible to ensure that a robust system of internal controls exists in order to satisfy internal, year-end and Financial Reporting Compliance audits in a timely manner, including an update of Process Controls as and when required. What we expect: Qualification /Skills/ Experience for the role You will have a Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline. Be a member of one of the professional accounting bodies. Have 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
