The Boeing Company is seeking a Software Security Engineer to join the Enterprise Product Security Software organization in Berkeley, MO. The role involves supporting Secure Coding, Certification, and Software Assurance across various programs in Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) and Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS).
The successful candidate will drive the development, implementation, and sustainment of product security and resiliency throughout the software development lifecycle, protecting Boeing's products and the aviation ecosystem.
As part of the organization, you will have support from security experts across all units and exposure to a broad range of products and services. Your focus on Software Security will ensure the security of software products and pipelines across Boeing’s portfolio.
This position is open to various experience levels: Associate, Mid-Level, and Senior.
Position Responsibilities
* Assess threats faced by software subsystems within larger systems
* Secure cloud-based software development environments
* Manage risks according to industry, professional, and government standards
* Develop security requirements and coordinate with stakeholders to implement security measures
* Verify requirements on security engineering products through inspection, analysis, and testing
* Conduct CVE analysis and coordinate mitigation efforts
* Implement DevSecOps best practices into pipelines
* Develop documentation and provide technical data for internal and external use
* Support the Product Security Incident Response Team
* Define and deploy software security standards within the SDLC
* Identify improvements to align software implementation with industry and Boeing best practices
This role is onsite only at Berkeley, MO.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
* 5+ years of experience in collaborative, cross-functional teams
* 2+ years leading teams or projects
* Background in software development or DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines
Preferred Qualifications
* Mid-level: 4+ years in Cybersecurity
* Senior: 8+ years in Cybersecurity
* Experience with Security Architecture, Network Security, Embedded Systems Security, and related fields
* Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CEH
* Knowledge of NIST SP 800-218 and other security standards
* Experience with cloud security (AWS preferred)
* Proficiency in vulnerability scanning and mitigation
