An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced investigator to join our growing counter fraud team, investigate allegations, and provide support / advice to colleagues on the prevention of fraud.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual capable of working as part of a team, meeting targets, and contributing significantly to the council’s response to fraud.
The successful candidate will manage their own caseload and support the council's counter fraud initiatives.
You will lead investigations into suspected fraudulent activities, both internal and external, across various council services (e.g., single person discount fraud and fraudulent use of blue badges).
This role reports to the manager of the counter fraud team within the council’s internal audit department.
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge and experience in dealing with various fraud types, including conducting interviews under caution, surveillance, and supporting prosecution cases. An investigatory mindset with creative problem-solving skills is essential.
The ideal candidate must hold an appropriate counter fraud qualification (e.g., Level 4 Counter Fraud Investigator or equivalent).
