The successful candidate will be part of an enthusiastic and expanding Home Enteral Feeding (HEF)/community dietetic team, working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team including community nurses, specialist nurses, and the medicine management team.
You will be based at Leighton Hospital, providing clinical intervention, patient and healthcare professional training, and education in patients' homes, nursing homes, and community clinics. This role offers opportunities to develop clinical skills in enteral feeding and nutritional support while maintaining core dietetic knowledge.
If you are starting your career and wish to develop skills in community/home enteral feeding, the team supports a Band 5 development pathway, progressing to Band 6 after competency training.
Please note: a valid UK driving licence and access to a car are required for this role.
The role involves delivering specialist dietetic services to adults requiring enteral feeding, prescribing support, or therapeutic dietary interventions across South Cheshire and Vale Royal, including home visits, virtual clinics, and community dietetic clinics. Competency-based training will be provided.
Responsibilities include formulating, delivering, and monitoring nutritional care plans for patients with complex conditions in community settings, including homes and continuing care establishments.
You will be recognized as an expert in enteral tube feeding and Oral Nutritional Supplements (ONS), contributing to clinical guidelines, resources, and educational materials.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for multidisciplinary teamwork, patient education, and professional training. Ideally, candidates will have broad dietetic experience, including enteral feeding.
Competency-based training in all aspects of community dietetics and HEF will be provided. The service supports professional development and embraces paperless working with advanced IT facilities.
