North Lincolnshire Council are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Specialist Social Worker (Substance Misuse) to work within our Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Team.
You will be required to have past qualifying experience of working directly with those who use substances. You will need to hold a Social Work qualification, and you must also hold a current registration with Social Work England.
You should be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and work as part of a dynamic team, with shared learning from and contributing to the development of others.
You will be a highly motivated social worker with experience of undertaking assessments, support planning, commissioning, and safeguarding. You will have a detailed knowledge of adult care and its underpinning legislation.
You will need to provide person centred, strength-based assessments and care plans which focus on maintaining independence. You will need to be able to work autonomously and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
You will need to have effective communication and organisation skills as well as the skills in negotiation and use of IT systems and the ability to work under pressure.
Key responsibilities include carrying out specialist substance misuse assessments in collaboration with other professionals where appropriate under the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated health and social care legislation, policy and codes of practice.
This post will also carry responsibility for supervising and supporting colleagues. You will also participate liaising with other teams, both internal and external, to ensure a good quality service that is in line with our statutory responsibilities and established good working relationships.
