Yum Tea is an independent tea shop with a simple and elegant patisserie offering with Asian flavour flair. It will be a 7-day a week cafe with a focus on fresh baked asian-style breads and afternoon tea style patisserie, cakes and cookies. The kitchen is brand new and is fitted with new mixers, prover and convection oven.
The in-house patisserie will produce a daily offering of filled pineapple buns, burnt cheesecakes, roll cakes, loaf cakes, cookies, biscuits, and more. We are looking for a passionate pastry chef who is an all-rounder and will energise the kitchen. Experience with doughs is preferred. Although the opening menu has been created, we want to work with a passionate chef who is excited about contributing recipes and developing their own ideas for the concept.
Our ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of kitchen experience and is confident to run a section. We want to hire someone that is enthusiastic about provenance, seasonality and ingredients and has a detailed understanding of kitchen processes (including health and safety). It is also important that our candidate can excel in both creativity and production, and holds themselves to very high standards.
