University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a 7 PA Consultant in Paediatric ENT, committed to high-quality patient care, innovative service models, and excellence in education and training.
This role involves maintaining and developing the existing tertiary service at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital (RNTNEH). The appointee should have experience in managing routine and complex paediatric ENT conditions, with potential involvement in elective adult ENT work and an on-call emergency service covering all adult and paediatric ENT diseases.
The candidate will work closely with other paediatric ENT consultants, join the airway MDT with Great Ormond Street Hospital, and contribute to developing a new paediatric day surgery unit.
Responsibilities include managing a large volume of paediatric ENT patients in outpatient and surgical settings, with opportunities for complex cases based on skills. Collaboration with GOSH ENT team and participation in airway MDTs are expected. The role also involves engaging in quality improvement projects, audits, and contributing innovative ideas to reduce waiting times and expand community clinics.
The department is establishing a bespoke paediatric day surgery unit, where the appointee will play a key role in its effective utilization.
