Role Overview
Pentland Ferries is seeking a qualified and motivated Officer of the Watch to join our Ro-Pax ferry operations in Scotland. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient navigation and operation of our vessels, while delivering the highest standards of safety and service to our passengers and crew.
Key Responsibilities
1. Stand bridge watches in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
2. Ensure the safe navigation, manoeuvring, and operation of the vessel.
3. Maintain compliance with all applicable maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and STCW requirements.
4. Oversee and participate in safety drills, training, and onboard maintenance as required.
5. Assist in supervising crew members to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
6. Provide excellent customer service and uphold the company’s professional standards.
Essential Requirements
7. Valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency.
8. Valid STCW certificates.
9. Valid ENG1 Medical Certificate.
10. Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
11. Previous experience working on passenger vessels.
12. Additional relevant maritime certificates (e.g., Crowd Management, Passenger Safety, Crisis Management).
