I am currently working with a growing and well-respected accountancy firm who are looking to bring an Audit & Accounts Senior on board to their offices based in Borehamwood. The role is ideal for someone with at least two years of post-qualification experience who's confident managing audits from planning through to completion, while also mentoring junior team members and contributing to their development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead audit engagements across a varied client portfolio - from planning through to finalisation - ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal standards
* Prepare statutory accounts for Limited companies and Partnerships
* Identify key risks during audit planning and tailor audit programmes accordingly
* Draft audit planning documentation, including budgets and schedules, in a timely manner
* Perform and review substantive testing, ensuring any errors are addressed and resolved
* Coordinate and manage audit teams, keeping assignments on track and within budget
* Provide hands-on support and technical guidance to junior team members
* Respond to audit review queries and prepare audit reports and management letters
* Build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
* Liaise with HMRC and other external bodies where necessary
* Maintain up-to-date and accurate client records, ensuring confidentiality is upheld
* Ensure client work is completed within deadlines and manage expectations proactively
* Support managers in identifying training needs and mentoring junior staff to help them progress
What We're Looking For:
* ACA or ACCA qualified (or nearing completion)
* Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in practice
* Strong audit and accounts preparation background
* Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as Xero, Sage, CCH, and Caseware
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
* A proactive approach and commitment to delivering high-quality client service
