JR313: Maintenance EngineerLocation: Marylebone, LondonSalary: £36,500 – £46,000Overview: First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their growing operations team.This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong problem-solving skills and experience across general building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and minor electrical works. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining premium office environments and supporting tenants across multiple managed sites.Duties and Responsibilities:
* Act as the first point of response for maintenance issues across managed office spaces
* Carry out initial assessments, repairs, or recommend specialist contractors where required
* Conduct regular site inspections and identify requirements for major repairs or remedial works
* Attend sites during contractor visits and ensure all works are completed to company standards
* Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs, leak repairs, changing taps, lock changes, tiling, painting, and decorating
* Carry out minor electrical works and support with HVAC-related issues where required
* Provide operational support during tenant move-ins, including mounting TVs, installing whiteboards, and general setup tasks
* Undertake light carpentry duties such as building cabinets and minor joinery work
* Maintain high standards of health and safety across all sites
* Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and tenants
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience within maintenance, facilities, or construction environments
* Experience working on offices & commercial kitchens
* Experience using hardware tools and electrical equipment
* Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems (desirable)
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
* Good communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients
* Well-organised with strong attention to detail
* Good awareness of health and safety procedures
* Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team
* Basic maths skills and practical troubleshooting ability
