Religious Affairs Manager - Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre
Campsfield House is set to open soon as the UK's first all-electric Immigration Removal Centre, providing custody services, welfare, regime, and recreational activities. We are seeking respectful, diligent, and caring colleagues to join our team.
Job objectives and responsibilities
* Manage the delivery of a comprehensive programme of worship and teaching opportunities for all faiths, in line with contractual requirements, company standards, Home Office standards, and resident needs.
* Provide advice, coaching, and support to staff to maximize the efficient and effective provision of religious affairs.
Main duties
1. Coordinate and contribute to a programme of religious activities, ensuring support from various faiths to meet residents' needs and contractual requirements.
2. Manage worship and teaching opportunities across all faiths, including necessary arrangements for emergency contact, ensuring residents' needs are met.
3. Develop and maintain links with outside faith communities to ensure support within the Centre is current, best practice aligned, and inclusive of all faiths.
4. Manage multi-faith and dedicated faith areas to ensure appropriate environments.
5. Promote diversity and inclusion in recruitment, promotion, and team development to harness local talent and foster future opportunities.
6. Coach and support staff development to enhance performance, motivation, and contribution.
7. Monitor staff to ensure contractual obligations and company standards are consistently met.
8. Maintain a stock of religious literature and artefacts to support residents' faith commitments.
9. Communicate major religious festivals and observances to all stakeholders.
10. Provide pastoral care to residents, staff, and families to support safety, care, and well-being.
11. Assist residents requesting marriage arrangements during custody.
12. Promote the department's services and ensure a visible, accessible religious affairs team within the Centre.
13. Liaise with residents' families to provide information and support as needed.
Qualifications and eligibility:
* Must be eligible for CTC clearance.
* Must hold a valid British passport or an EU passport with a share code.
* Must have lived and worked in the UK for at least 3 years without extended overseas trips.
* No criminal convictions and not subject to ongoing police investigations.
