As a domiciliary support worker, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life.
* Assist service users with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Support with medication management, ensuring prescribed medications are taken correctly and on time
* Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary
* Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment
* Provide companionship and emotional support to service users
* Assist with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment when required
* Monitor and report any changes in service users' health or wellbeing to the care coordinator
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and any incidents or concerns
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
* Companion calls
* Domestic support around the home
Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach
* Excellent time management and organisational abilities
* Basic healthcare knowledge and understanding of person-centred care
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Physical stamina to perform care tasks and assist with mobility
* Previous experience in domiciliary care or a similar role is preferred
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification is desirable
* First Aid certification is advantageous
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to protecting vulnerable adults
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
* Valid driving licence and access to own vehicle may be required for some positions
