Job Title: Senior Medical Writer
Location: Remote with 1 day travel a month to South-West England for team get togethers.
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
Senior Medical Writer.
You will research, develop, and deliver medically robust and compelling medical
education and commercial content that communicates complex health, pharma and
medical information clearly and effectively.
Working closely with the wider team, you will ensure all materials are
accurate, compliant, and aligned with strategic objectives, while maintaining high
standards of quality.
Through the careful use of language and evidence-based storytelling, you will help
translate complex science into meaningful communications that support the agency’s mission to improve health outcomes through creativity.
Accountabilities
* Serve as a client-facing agency medical writing representative.
* Adapt medical content to suit the audience and communication objectives, and client strategy, as-needed according to the material being developed.
* Build expertise in therapy areas and interpret scientific data and communications with
* confidence, tailoring content with strong audience awareness.
* Translate complex medical data into clear, accurate, and evidence-based content.
* Ensure consistency of medical messaging across all communications.
* Plan, draft, review, reference, and finalise documents in line with regulatory standards
* Maintain excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills, managing multiple assets, references, and review cycles.
* Provide clear summaries for non-medical peers and collaborate effectively with the wider team to support the delivery of high-quality materials/work.
* Apply a strong understanding of Veeva processes, including uploading, anchoring, and content management.
Role measures
* Client Leadership and Client satisfaction with materials produced, including accurate and compliant output and quality of communications, as measured in regular client survey.
* Positive 360 feedback from internal cross-agency team.
Other information
* Occasional travel is required.
* Remote-based working with monthly team meet-up.
* Client requirements and their locations mean working hours may vary week to week.
Person Specification:
Essential Experience
• 3+ years in a medical or healthcare communications agency environment.
Considerable experience in:
* Veeva processes, including uploading, anchoring, and content management.
* Writing both medical and commercial materials.
* Creating and delivering impactful presentations.
* Managing multiple projects and delivering to tight timelines, with consistent accuracy and quality.
* Virtual and/or face-to-face client and key opinion leader meetings.
* Multiple therapy areas, including, but not limited to: dermatology, gastroenterology, respiratory, rheumatology, liver disease, oncology, HIV, autoimmune diseases and neuroscience.
Desirable Experience:
* Supporting and co-running workshops.
* Understanding of brand and marketing strategy.
* Basic experience in Figma

* Strong analytical and research skills, able to absorb, filter and distil complex information into clear, impactful communications.
* Excellent attention to detail, including spelling, punctuation and grammar.
* Strong presentation skills.
* Adaptable, with excellent organisational skills, and proven ability to manage multiple projects from beginning to end, while meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
* Able to perform consistently across projects of different scales, and develop compelling communications to brief and budget, no matter the topic, client or sector.
* Motivated to excel and maintain high standards.
* Microsoft Office programmes e.g. Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
* Fluent or native English speaker.
