Job Description
Aureos are looking for an Assistant Quality Manager will support the Quality Manager in delivering project-based quality assurance and control across live construction sites.
The role focuses on ensuring compliance with Aureos the Business Management System (BMS), client specifications and contractual requirements through effective management of quality processes. Support on a ‘Right First Time’ culture ensuring processes such as Inspection and test plans, materials approvals, non-conformance and testing are in place and being complied with, reviewing quality records, and supporting digital quality management systems. The position plays a key role in maintaining and contributing to continuous improvement across highways projects.
Duties:
Primary tasks and duties: – Support implementation of project-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), monitor compliance, and verify inspection records.
– Assist with Materials Approval Requests (MARs), maintain approval registers, and ensure approval before use.
– Assist on ensuring that Materials Sampling and Testing Schedules are in place and testing by UKAS-accredited (where required). Support the delivery team in identifying any issues and ensuring NCRs are raised as necessary.
– Assist delivery team in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of quality records, support readiness reviews, and collation of handover documentation.
– Maintain the NCR register and assist in managing non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions promptly. Assist on investigating and reporting quality related incidents including root cause analysis and implementation of preventive actions. Facilitate NCR meetings.
– Ensure quality observations are identified, raised and closed out by owners.
– Support the delivery team in managing quality related issues.
– Ensure that quality documentation is being stored effectively within the Common Data Environment.
– Liaise with the team to ensure that Audit findings are addressed and closed out in a timely manner.
Secondary tasks and duties: – Support digital quality processes using platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Helix (Aureos’ own Digital Field Tool for onsite capture) and ProjectWise.
– Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
Essential: – Degree or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
Desirable: – Knowledge of highways specifications and standards.
Knowledge
Essential: – Understanding of construction quality assurance and control principles and site-based processes.
– Demonstrate experience in quality assurance and control processes.
Desirable: – Familiarity with digital document management systems (e.g. Autodesk Construction Cloud, ProjectWise).
Skills and abilities
Essential: – Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical specifications.
– Competent in reviewing and managing quality documentation.
– Proficiency in MS Office and digital tools for record management.
– Collaborative approach and strong team player, with good interpersonal skills.
– Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable: – Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and root cause analysis.
