Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a Skilled Prison Nurse with an interest in primary care to join our team at Forth Valley Prisons. Our ethos is to deliver trauma‑informed, person‑centred, safe and effective care to patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality care and treatment within the Primary Care nursing role.
* Work in partnership with the Scottish Prison Service and wider agencies.
* Serve as part of a multidisciplinary, integrated team and contribute to the overall health outcomes of a complex and vulnerable population.
* Develop and enhance clinical skills and knowledge, ranging from autonomous decision‑making to support a modern, innovative healthcare service.
* Assist with service rotation and travel throughout the area of service delivery.
* Maintain membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
Qualifications & Requirements
* First level registered nurse (RN).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously with high‑level clinical decision‑making.
* Willingness to travel and adapt to rotating posts.
Work Hours & Pay
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata; however, compensation will be adjusted to keep pay unaffected.
Sponsorship
Applicants requiring sponsorship to work in the UK will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis. NHS Forth Valley may offer sponsorship for suitable roles that meet minimum salary thresholds and other criteria. Please review UK Government guidance for visa requirements.
