Abacus is hiring a Commercial Litigation Solicitor (with a Construction focus) at junior to mid-level PQE to join a highly reputable firm with a highly regarded Disputes team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value disputes for major corporates, developers, contractors, insurers, and public sector clients.
The Role:
You will advise on a broad range of commercial disputes, with a particular emphasis on construction and engineering matters, including:
* Construction and engineering disputes (TCC matters)
* Adjudications, arbitrations, and High Court litigation
* Disputes arising from JCT, NEC, and bespoke construction contracts
* Professional negligence claims involving construction professionals
* Delay, disruption, and defects claims
* General commercial litigation matters.
You will work closely with partners on significant cases while gaining increasing responsibility for managing matters and client relationships.
About You:
A Qualified Solicitor with circa typically 1 to 5 years PQE in Commercial Litigation along with:
* Experience in construction-related disputes or a strong interest in specialising
* Familiarity with litigation procedure and dispute resolution processes
* Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy preparation skills
* Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Direct experience of adjudication and/or arbitration proceedings
* Technical understanding of construction projects or industry background
* Dual qualification is a bonus.
