Due to significant growth our client is currently recruiting a Despatch Manager (Backshift) who will be responsible for overseeing all outbound logistics operations within a very busy food production environment.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage the daily despatch operations, ensuring efficient and accurate order picking, packing, and loading
Coordinate all outbound shipments to meet customer delivery schedules
Monitor KPIs such as OTIF, picking accuracy, and vehicle turnaround times
Ensure effective scheduling of despatch staff to meet demand
Ensure full compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, BRCGS, Food Hygiene Regulations)
Maintain traceability and accurate documentation for all goods dispatched
Liaise with production, planning, and transport teams to coordinate smooth dispatch operations
Manage Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems
Experience & Skills
Proven experience in a Despatch, Warehouse, or Logistics Manager role within the food or FMCG
Strong understanding of food safety standards (BRC, HACCP, etc.)
Experience of working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent organisational and planning abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
IT literate with experience using WMS/ERP systems
