Multi-disciplinary practice with a real focus on design are seeking a highly creative and design-focused Architect to join their agile, high-end studio. This is a pivotal role for a designer who possesses a genuine passion for the craft and a meticulous eye for the "fine details."
Following a period of successful growth with private clients, they are looking for a "design engine" for the practice - someone who gets their kicks from great architecture and wants to elevate the aesthetic output of every project they touch. Whether you are a hungry, rising star with a few years of experience or a more seasoned Architect capable of running projects independently, your primary value will be your design flair.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the design lead across a diverse portfolio, including high-end hotel/wellness projects and commercial office refurbs.
* Bridge the "design gap" within the studio, pushing creative boundaries and ensuring a high-quality aesthetic across all RIBA stages.
* Translate client aspirations into beautiful, buildable realities with a focus on small-scale, exquisite detailing.
* Lead projects from initial concept through to completion (depending on seniority), maintaining design integrity during the delivery phase.
* Represent the practice in front of private clients and contractors with confidence and clarity.
* Work collaboratively with the technical team to ensure design concepts are executed to the highest standard.
Skills & Experience
* ARB registered Architect (or equivalent) with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional design flair.
* A "hungry and passionate" mindset - we are looking for someone who lives and breathes architecture.
* Proven experience in high-end residential, hospitality, or sophisticated commercial refurbishments.
* An obsession with the details; you should be as interested in the joinery and material junctions as you are in the massing.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; Revit skills are highly desirable and would allow you to add immediate value to our BIM workflow.
* Ability to work autonomously or lead a small team depending on the scale of the appointment.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to "sell" a design vision to private clients.
Benefits and Culture
* Competitive salary, negotiable based on the level of experience and design talent.
* The chance to be a "big fish in a small pond" - you will have a direct and visible impact on the studio's design direction.
* A collaborative, close-knit team environment with a flat hierarchy.
* Exposure to high-net-worth private clients and high-quality, wellness-oriented projects.
* A clear opportunity to grow with the practice and take ownership of the design output.
