Technical authority for HCP4 (High Performance Computer 4) on BEV/PHEV electrical architectures, in depth technical knowledge and guidance, to support and ensure achievement of business objectives and technical development, delivering on time and within budget.
RESPONSIBILITY/TASKS AND CUSTOMERS
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Accountable for deliverables to a specified timeframe, quality and cost.
o Ability to demonstrate deliverables status at any time with Key Performance Indicators.
o PEP reporting tools
o Budget plans
o Component/SW/HW delivery plans for a given project
o Function delivery plans and supporting function maturity planning
o Manage workload on a daily basis and respond to both long term and short term task requests.
o Interfacing within EE and other areas of Engineering to ensure cross functional working to ensure consideration of systems engineering.
o Responsible for leading prompt concern resolution on existing systems/parts and processes, provide containment solutions when necessary.
o Manage any outsourced work in the same technical area, including supplier management where required.
o Manage specific budgetary requirements to meet KPI objectives.
2. Developing and maintaining specialist technical and business knowledge and capability, to ensure appropriate technical direction is provided.
o Propose process and method improvements to develop departmental capability.
o Ability to lead on technical direction/options working with other departments/engineers which interface with the Energy Management Systems team.
o Provide technical direction to other EESK feature owners in the team to support them in providing accurate information to other areas.
o Provide technical input into concepts for future development.

3. Accountable for developing and influencing the strategic technical direction within specialist area of HCP4.
o Demonstrate a broad awareness of process and operational requirements within the area.
o Responsible for the delivery of attribute targets and in some cases defining targets based on current and future technologies in HCP4.
o Support and provide technical knowhow in relation to product planning.
o Advise management of strategic opportunities in areas of technical expertise.
o Develop and gain agreement for the strategic technical direction/Technical Roadmaps within specialist area.
o Keep up to date with industry innovations and relevant Group technical roadmap deployment.
4. Maintain effective communication internally and within Group.
o Responsibility to ensure factual and effective communication is provided at all levels, including within all cross-functional working teams.
o Participation and effective representation of function/Company in appropriate technical meetings.
o Responsible for the collation and presentation of relevant data in order to consult and lead functional /cross-functional meetings.
o Transparent issue escalation to management, accountable for identifying and escalating issues and risks to management
o Develop relationships with counterparts in appropriate internal functions and organisations, and provide relevant guidance to suppliers.
o Make recommendations and effective presentations to the business in area of technical specialism, with the ability to explain and break down technical detail/direction.
KEY COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Appropriate experience working in the Automotive Industry in ECU Delivery, customer facing systems and related parts/systems/sub-systems
* Experience of the product development process from concept to production.
* Strong influencing skills and communication, with a commitment to building positive relationships with other functions and the team.
* Liaising with Group as an outward facing expert.
* Ability to share technical knowledge effectively with others, support and guide as appropriate to ensure deliverables can be met
* Demonstrable experience of process improvement activities within the specific technology.
* Business awareness and ability to make and influence strategic decisions within the business context.
* Understanding and ability to demonstrate behaviours in line with the Bentley People Framework.
PRACTICAL & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
* Has demonstrable knowledge applicable to the technology areas in a relevant Engineering discipline.
* Understands business cycle planning and business case creation
* A proven knowledge of Body Control systems and practical experience of development of such systems
* Understanding and application of all required sign off legislative and environmental requirements.
* Demonstrable knowledge and application of Company problem solving tools and skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Higher Engineering degree or equivalent.
* Preferably Chartered Engineer, or with a desire to achieve/currently working towards Chartered status.
* Proficiency in German language would be an advantage.
