About the Role
A supportive and inclusive SEN college in Bromley is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Lecturer to join their team on a long-term basis. This role involves working with post-16 learners with a range of additional needs, supporting them in developing academic, vocational, and life skills to prepare for adulthood.
This is a full teaching role, requiring planning, preparation, assessment, and a strong focus on individual learning pathways, independence, and employability skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to learners with SEN
2. Plan, prepare, and assess in line with individual learning plans and EHCP outcomes
3. Support learners in developing independence, communication, and life skills
4. Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of needs, including ASD, MLD, and complex needs
5. Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
6. Monitor and track learner progress, providing regular feedback
7. Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and curriculum leads
8. Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and reports
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
9. A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
10. Experience working with learners with SEN, ideally in a post-16 or college setting
11. Strong understanding of EHCPs and person-centred planning
12. A flexible, patient, and proactive approach
13. Ability to engage and motivate learners with diverse needs
14. Commitment to supporting learners’ progression into adulthood
