Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (BABCP accred.)

We’re looking for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join our Talking Therapies team at HMP The Mount on a full‑time basis (35 hours per week). This is a rewarding opportunity to support individuals experiencing low to moderate mental health conditions, including anxiety and depression, within a structured, recovery‑focused environment.
Working within a Talking Therapies service, you’ll deliver evidence‑based, low‑intensity psychological interventions (Step 2) designed to help people make meaningful progress in their mental health. You’ll work 1:1 and in group settings, supporting individuals to develop practical coping strategies and move forward with confidence.
Responsibilities
* Assessing suitability for low‑intensity psychological interventions
* Delivering Step 2 Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression
* Providing 1:1 support and facilitating therapeutic groups
* Managing a structured caseload with appropriate prioritisation and care planning
* Working collaboratively with prison and partner agencies in a multidisciplinary setting
* Participating in clinical supervision and case management
* Maintaining accurate, high‑quality clinical records and risk assessments
Qualifications
* Qualified or trainee PWP with a recognised PWP qualification (or working towards it)
* Strong understanding of low‑intensity CBT‑based interventions
* Experience working within Talking Therapies / IAPT frameworks
* Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work within structured clinical pathways
* Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
* Commitment to collaborative, multidisciplinary working
* Confidence in risk assessment and safe practice within a secure setting
